The Grand Temple in Freemasons Hall was filled to capacity for the Provincial Annual Meeting in September.
As before, current masters paraded in before taking their seats in a special section from which they were able to watch those from their lodges receiving Provincial honours for the first time, and those being promoted.
Several Provincial Grand Masters were also among the guests.
The headmistress of the Royal Masonic School for Girls spoke eloquently about the school and its deserved splendid reputation in the academic world.
Later the revamped Connaught Rooms – now called the Grand Connaught Rooms – was the setting for a festive board the like of which has not been seen, or tasted, for many years.
