Twice each year, the Provincial Grand Master, Colin Harris and the Provincial Grand Secretary, Keith Gilbert travel to Sofia to assist the newly formed English speaking Lodge, Hiram. Practices are held on Friday evening and all day Saturday, followed by a lively festive board. Using the traditional language of Emulation ritual is not always easy for us in England, so you can imagine the challenges faced by those whose first language is Bulgarian. However, the brethren of Hiram have already competently undertaken all three ceremonies.
On the Sunday, excursions are organised to various parts of this fabulous country. On the last visit Colin and Keith were taken to the town of Turnovo, the centre of the Bulgarian Kingdom in the 12th-14th centuries. In May they return along with the Deputy Provincial Grand Master and two APGMs will assist at the installation meeting.
